Parental control for YouTube, on iOS and Android
YouTube is where children find both the shows they learn from and a feed that never ends. Cocopine gives the parent a middle option between allowing everything and blocking everything: decide exactly which channels and videos are available, Shorts included.
We ran development end to end for both platforms.
The problem: a parent wants a say in what a child watches without turning it into constant supervision.
The approach: two modes on the same device — one for the parent, one for the child. The parent curates what is available, and the app reports back rather than requiring them to watch over a shoulder.
What shipped: channel and video selection including Shorts, a library of curated educational videos, custom courses a parent can assemble, and a weekly summary of what was actually watched. Published in the App Store and on Google Play.
